Board of Commissioners Meeting Summary – March 18, 2025
Attendees: Justin Elpers, Amy Canterbury, Mike Goebel
The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Engineer’s Office Requests:
Road improvements in Spring Lake Valley approved, with the contract awarded to Jerry David for the lowest bid.
Drainage improvements for Tekoppel Baptist Church, Joseph Stocker, and F. Rigdon were also approved.
Burdette Park:
Approved a routine filtration system service request.
Berry Plastics requested to hold their company picnic at Burdette, which is already hosting Sabic's picnic, and Mead Johnson is considering returning. Commissioners were assured there were enough staff for these events.
Treasurer’s Office:
- A new printer costing $7,000 was approved.
Coroner’s Office:
- Approved a fee increase for out-of-county/state charges, adding $50 per day after the fifth day, as the previous rate had been unchanged for 25 years.
Sheriff’s Department:
- Reported on the Darmstadt Opioid Restricted Donation fund, with a second order waived. The program will be implemented in the city and county.
Fountain Avenue Drainage Easement:
- Approved for first reading, with a final reading scheduled for April 1.
4-H Presentation:
- Megan Taylor shared opportunities such as school programs, camps, and self-help training. They thanked the Commissioners for their support.
